  5.  I wrote the first version AssistCalc because many people
  6. expect the functionality of AssistCalc to be built into the Newton.
  7. AssistCalc allows the user to write out (not tap, tap, tap) your
  8. expression into the Notepad, tap Assist and AssistCalc will calculate
  9. an answer for you.
  10.  
  11. Version 2 came about because using Intelligent Assist was just too
  12. slow. So, I created an expression field for you to enter your
  13. expression into and a formula popup with many of the NewtonScript math
  14. functions in it.
  15.  
  16. Version 3.0 the first programmable Newton calculator is here. I split
  17. up the formula popup in to trig() and misc(), and I created a third
  18. menu called my() that is user configurable. You can save over 20
  19. formulas! The number of formulas is unlimited if you install a program
  20. such as my ScrollingDoPopup.pkg which allows the popups to scroll if
  21. longer than the length of the screen.

  23. Version 3.1 - minor screw up on my part in 3.0. I now save the
  24. expression so the next time you enter AssistCalc the your last
  25. expression will still be there. This is useful if you are working with
  26. the same formula a lot.

  28. Version 3.5 - it's been a while since an upgrade, so I've added a couple
  29. extra features. There is a 'o' in the upper left corner that will iconize
  30. AssistCalc. There is a 'C' clear button. You can switch between decimal
  31. 'd' notation and floating point 'e' notation. You can set the number of
  32. decimals to show. There are a couple extra buttons for ':=', ';', and
  33. return. I've also added Register support.

  35. Version 3.5.1 - fixed Assist parsing so white space isn't stripped 
  36. out.
